Forth of July and a 'You Capture'

So... for the forth of July weekend we decided to:

go camping in the backyard

go to Lakemont and...

...ride some rides
me and Faith and Meg on the Tilt-A-Whirl (Faith was NOT a fan)
On the Tin Lizzys - we let Faith 'drive ...aaahhh

Faith and Meg on the kiddy rides
with Daddy on the merry go round
on the Ferris wheel
the view from the top
and bumper cars (me n Faith)
(Daddy n Meg)
...play some mini-golf

...and watched some fireworks

and we did relax a bit and I got this picture of the girls, it's my "You Capture" for this week:
this weeks theme was "America" and I can't think of anything more American then these girls :) Love them!
You Capture was designed to encourage those interested to pick up their cameras and try something new or just pick them up at all and snap a shot here or there. And not only that, but to see what others were doing with their camera and gaining inspiration from them. Go check out some of the amazing pictures there!

VBS 2010 - Saddle Ride Ranch

VBS was the week of the 13th through the 17th of June. Faith and Megan had a blast, though it was late every night (and Megan still had school that week) ... oh well

The theme this year was Saddle Ridge Ranch: Roundin' up questions, Drivin' home answers. Most of these pictures are of the decorations around the church, which were amazing. The boxes... the church we attend has committed to sending 10,000 Operation Christmas Child boxes this year. The VBS offering was taken to be able to actually send the boxes... $7 per box really adds up :) as an added bonus (for the kid's entertainment) the youth Pastor and a few others were doused with water balloons or with whipped cream pies for every 10 OCC boxes that the kids helped to send.

There were too many pictures to put them all into blogger, so I put them in a slide show for ya, enjoy!

You Capture ~ Chair

So I have been reading this blog for a couple of weeks, thanks to a PCOS friend (Alisha who's son is so cute!)

You Capture was designed to encourage those interested to pick up their cameras and try something new or just pick them up at all and snap a shot here or there. And not only that, but to see what others were doing with their camera and gaining inspiration from them. Go check out some of the amazing pictures there!

So this week the theme was a choice between chair, hands or green.

Our focal chair of late has been Holly's high chair. Faith and Megan just love to entertain Holly while she is in it. I love it because it was given to us right after Faith was born (hey, anything baby related that you DON'T have to buy is a bonus) and I LOVE how rustic it looks, and that it has held up through my older two, plus who knows how many kids before that and is still going strong for Holly. So here is my chair picture for this week :)

More stuff coming later...

First food

I've recently realized that my digital camera has the ability to take short (3 min max) videos, and I really should start utilizing this feature more. Much more portable then the big video camera and upload-able to the computer and then to face.book or here. So here is my first (and second) attempt at taking video and it's Holly's first attempt at 'table' food. :)

Steve decided that it might be a good time to give Holly some food other then mommy milk. So this is her first attempt at it... bananas! The jury seems to still be out... I love the 'looks' she gave, but she seemed to enjoy the experience.

Holly is 6 Months!

...well she was yesterday!

... and I am wondering how that happened so quickly!

birth... not sure why it's sideways..

one month

two months

three months

four months

five months

six months
and what, Holly, are you up to?

*you can roll from back to front.... but you get upset that you're on your belly, you do not like that (so you are not rolling front to back yet)
*you love to eat your feet
*you are almost sitting all on your own
*you love standing (with the help of a big person)
*you giggle in the cutest way and your big sisters love to make you laugh!
*you sleep most of the night, with one or two interruptions to eat (hey breastmilk is digested quickly, right?)
*you still sleep in the bassinet next to mommy and daddy's bed, but you sleep so much better IN their bed
*you love to play 'peek-a-boo'
*you love putting everything you get your hands on in your mouth (big sisters better keep things off the floor!)
*you know that you are Holly and you know who Mommy and Daddy are (we're still working on those big sisters :) )
*(Mommy's fav) you give us kisses (on your terms of course) by opening your mouth and planting it on said victim's family member's cheek
*you give a new perspective to the term 'load of poo' ....mommy's been doing lots of laundry for that reason :)

basically you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing for a child of your age

and how is the rest of Holly's family?
*Faith is almost done with Kindergarten (Wednesday is the last day!)
*Megan is almost done with this year of preschool (she has a bit longer then Faith, her last day is the 21st)... one more year of preschool before Kindergarten for her.
*Daddy still works nights, BUT is looking to go to school online :)
*Mommy ... oh yeah, she got a job (but that's a different post), but has the summer mostly off... more on that later!

Do we have summer plans?
Oh yeah!
~Holly's family is (well her big sisters are) signed up for two free games of bowling every day this summer, we wont go that often but the opportunity is there.
~We dream (aka: we haven't done any sort of planning for it yet) of going to Connecticut and visiting with Aunt Marge and Uncle Bart (maybe Rachel and Jon too :) ).
~There is also a dream (again hasn't hit planning yet) that Grams may come to visit! (that would be super exciting).
~We want to go camping, but we are (read: mommy is) not really sure how that would work with a 6-8 month old though...

Happy six months baby girl!! we love you :)
